Food and Financial Assistance from IFCS
Integrated Family Community Services (IFCS) provides basic human services and enrichment programs to low-income people, using community resources. IFCS fosters self-sufficiency and respects the dignity of each client. It serves the people of Centennial, Englewood, Glendale, Highlands Ranch, Littleton, Lone Tree, Sheridan, and unincorporated Arapahoe County. They offer food and financial assistance programs to those in need. If you are looking for assistance or want to volunteer to provide these services, here are some ways to get involved.
There are four ways that students and staff can help or be helped –in a general sense (other specific needs can be assessed or referred to other organizations).
Register for Christmas gifts for children - https://www.ifcs.org/holidayhelp/ - and their Adopt-A-Family program.
Come receive weekly (sometimes twice weekly) distributions of food and grocery items. You can learn a bit from their Facebook Feed - https://www.facebook.com/IntegratedFamily
Come down the street to the Free Thanksgiving and Christmas Holiday meal item box distribution at Arapahoe Community College – Saturdays November 21st and December 19th from 1-4pm (or until 700 boxes are handed out)
Volunteer as a group to do a food drive to benefit the Food Market @IFCS or to get a group of up to 6 people to assist us with our weekly “pop the trunk” food distribution – essentially loading a food box(s) into trucks, as cars cycle through their parking lot. Here is a short video to get a snapshot of a recent volunteer group doing here food distribution. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DphHobgVyQE&feature=youtu.be&fbclid=IwAR1-AMo72cH5Js-9d9XHhgnt2_28Rf7M-ylI4b4Zniy88QodrBxRN0WjEv0
If you are looking for financial assistance with rent, mortgage, or utilities. These programs necessitate more in depth information, as they are tied to government funding and geographic counties. IFCS does not require a CO identification for most transactions. For more information, visit their website at ifcs.org.
