TUTORING
services

The Writing Center helps students in the following areas: improving writing skills, brainstorming topics, organizing ideas, integrating research, using appropriate grammar and punctuation, and learning how to format papers in Turabian and APA styles. 

(Fall & Spring Only)

The Writing Center provides every student with up to five hours of free one-on-one tutoring during fall and spring semesters to help in the following areas: improving writing skills, brainstorming topics, organizing ideas, integrating research, using appropriate grammar and punctuation, and learning how to format papers in Turabian and APA styles. DC students: please contact Debora Barr to arrange for tutoring.

Reserve a session. Sign up by clicking on the "Sign Up Now!" button during fall and spring semesters.

 

Drop by. Local students are also welcome to drop in during regular tutoring hours if Mike is not with another student. 

Online tutoring is available. Online tutoring via Zoom is available for our online-only students and for local students who need or prefer a video call. Students should indicate whether they want to meet in person or over Zoom on the drop-down menu when signing up. The Zoom link will be posted on the sign-up sheet prior to a scheduled appointment.

 

Inclement weather. If Mike cannot travel to campus and/or the library is closed due to inclement weather, tutoring over Zoom will be an option to all students and the tutor will contact those scheduled for sessions. Email us with any questions.

TUTORING SERVICES

Tutoring Hours: Mondays and Tuesdays from 10 - 1 (MST)

 

Additional times via Zoom may be scheduled upon request. Note that If you are located in a time zone other than Mountain Standard and wish to schedule a Zoom session, please adjust the times accordingly.

What to bring: Please bring any materials that you have for your paper such as a syllabus, an assignment sheet, draft, etc.

 

Please note: Free tutoring is not available to DMin students or MA students working on theses. Please contact Writing Center Coordinator Jana Matthews for tutoring referrals.
